A shoulder injury forced Imran Kayum, turning with Kent's left hand, to resign from all forms of cricket. The 27-year-old has played 82 games in various formats since his debut in 2014.
"It is very disappointing that my career has been cut short, but I can look back with pride at the contribution I have made as a Kent player," Kayum said in a statement on Thursday (May 20). "I will only have fond memories. I am very grateful for the opportunity Kent Cricket gave me to make my childhood dreams come true."
At the end of the day, Kayum played only the best six games that specialized in the white ball format. There he played 29 List-A matches and 45 T20 matches, with an average of 45 goals yielding 25.73 in the T20 and a career best of 5 through 21 against Somerset.
Prior to joining Kent, Kayum played for the Middlesex youth team and for the second XI team from Northamptonshire and Sussex.
