Middlesex have signed New Zealand's Daryl Mitchell car for the last nine T20 Blast group games after Paul Sterling featured in the top five. Both players were appointed to replace Mitchell Marsh, who was selected for the Australian White Collar Tour of the West Indies.
"It is a great honor to sign a contract with Middlesex and I can call my employer's house a Vitality Blast," said Mitchell, Friday (May 21). "I'm looking forward to meeting the group after our championship test final against India and not only winning T20 cricket again."
Mitchell has 2,110 fields and 48 goals in 108 T20 games, starting in the northern district before moving to Canterbury. He made his debut for New Zealand in 2019 and has since represented his country at 15 T20I and 3 ODI.
"It's great that Daryl has agreed to play for us at the T20 Blast this season," said Middlesex head coach Stuart Lowe. "He was highly recommended by his contemporaries in New Zealand and over the last few years we have seen him find his way into this strong New Zealand team.
"He has an eclectic game with an emphasis on attack power and good cricket intelligence. We look forward to adding him to the Middlesex family and look forward to working with him during that boom."
